FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which time does the app use by default?
The app uses the current time when Cast is tapped, then converts it into the lunar month, day, and traditional two-hour period.
How do I use Selected Time?
Tap the civil date row on the home screen. After the reminder, continue to choose a date and time. Completing the selection or restoring Current Time clears an old result; cancelling leaves the existing state unchanged.
What is True Solar Time, and why is location requested?
True Solar Time is an optional correction and is off by default. After you enable it, the app requests When In Use permission, reads current longitude once, and performs the correction on the device. Location is not uploaded, stored, written to history, or continuously tracked. Denying permission does not affect standard-time casting.
What should I check if the lunar date or hour looks wrong?
Check the date, time, and time zone on your iPhone or iPad. We recommend enabling automatic date and time in iOS Settings, because incorrect device settings affect the conversion.
Can I review how the result was produced?
Yes. The app follows the lunar month, day, and hour in sequence and shows the Six Spirits result with the complete calculation.
Does the app need the internet?
Core features work offline. Opening the website, support, privacy policy, or App Store accesses the corresponding public page.
Where are history and notes stored?
History and optional notes entered by the user are stored only on the device and can be deleted with the history record in the app. The app does not automatically read or record the user's question. Notes are not uploaded, shared, written to logs, or used for tracking, and history does not store device location.
How do I add a note?
After a result appears, tap Save to History. Enter a note of up to 200 visible characters or choose Skip Note and Save. Cancelling does not create a history record. Saved notes appear in the history summary and full details; this version does not support editing a note after saving.
Why is the result the same when I cast again within the same Chinese hour?
Xiao Liu Ren uses the lunar month, lunar day, and Chinese hour. The same inputs therefore produce the same result; this does not mean the app is frozen. If a result is already shown, tapping Cast Now explains whether the effective hour has changed before you choose to view the current result, cast again, or cancel.
How can I temporarily hide the current result?
Tap Collapse above the current result to hide the details, then tap Expand to show them again. Collapsing does not delete or recalculate the result and does not prevent saving it to history.
Does history sync to a new device?
No. The app has no account or cloud sync, so history remains on the original device.
Can results be used for real-world decisions?
No. The app is for traditional-cultural learning, entertainment, and personal reference only. It is not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
